Alex has some news for you.
A Strange Radio Message
I thought I would find you around here somewhere. We’ve had a bit of a breakthrough in our search for Justin, I think… Mario, from the Astronomical and Archaeological Society in Jorvik you know, was lucky enough to hear a radio message when he was working with his radio equipment. Are you ready to hear it, my friend?
Objectives: Listen to what Alex has to say.
Rewards: 5 Jorvik Shillings, 15 XP
Reputation: 10 with Keepers of Aideen
Alex will tell you about the radio message.
So that is it. The message was strange and Mario wasn’t lucky enough to catch it all, but he thinks that the message means that Dark Core will ship Justin’s horse to some beach here close by. And the horse will be picked up by someone that is called the “Dark Rider Malumi” or something like that. I have my suspicials about who could be using that as a code name.
The Dark Rider will of course be transporting the horse to somewhere in Goldenhills Valley.
Justin’s horse is going to picked up by the beach tomorrow morning! We need to hurry and try and find and follow the Dark Rider to see what they do with Justin’s horse.

Only by making them yourself will they have the strongest power. You are going to need some tools and materials… Some of which are hard to get. Meltwater
Listen now Rita. All the way up in Valedale you can find the source of the Silversong River. The water there comes from ancient glaciers that are slowly melting in Hidden Dinosaur Valley. The source of water is full of mystical powers that are going to help make the horse that wears these shoes faster than the wind.
Here Rita, take my bucket. Ride over to Valedale and collect some water from the source of the Silversong River. Near the east coast in Valedale, there is an old trail that leads to the place where you should collect the water.

Ancient Wood
Listen closely Rita, the forge fire needs to be fed with nature’s ancient power to give the horseshoes if we are going to give them amazing strength. Of course fire is powerful in itself, but we need to give it something extra to make sure the shoes are truly special. We need wood from the mighty Ancient Oak. In olden times Hollow Woods was full of those majestic ancient oak trees but now there are only a few left along the edge of the Silversong River on the east shore.
Objectives: Find the wood from the Ancient Oak at the edge of the woods east of the Silversong River. Give the wood to Conrad.

More Ghost Ore!
Okay then Rita. We need ghost ore from Jarl’s Tomb to begin to forge your new horseshoes. People in Jorvik still tell stories about Jarl’s strong will and discipline. ______________
First Forging Lesson
Okay now Rita. Follow my instructions very closely…
Sometimes I will want you to work the iron with the hammer on the anvil. Sometimes I will want you to heat the iron in the forge and sometimes I will need you to cool the iron in the bucket of water…
I will tell you when I need you to do those different tasks. Timing is incredibly important to doing a good job. If you mess up even once, you will have to start all over again and do it right. Do you understand? And of course you can’t sit on your horse while we forge the iron…
Put Summerblaze a bit away from us so we have room to work. Here are my tongs and hammer, they are now in your bag. Be prepared to use them. The hammer you use on the anvil. The tongs you use to heat the iron in the forge and to cool the iron in the bucket.
Objectives: Use the tongs from your bag on the forge and the water and use the hammer on the anvil when Conrad gives you instructions. Be careful and be quick!
Rewards: 15 Jorvik Shillings, 5 XP
Reputation: 5 with Keepers of Aideen

When you are done, speak with Conrad.
I have to say you were a very good apprentice. Maybe you would like to be a blacksmith someday? Anyways, we’ll continue tomorrow. The iron needs to set for a day for the horseshoes’ power to be as strong as it can get.
