Day 56, Spy Training – Spoiler Alert

Let’s see what the agents have found out about Mr Kembell’s operation.

Report from the Spies

gunther

Guten tag, Rita!

Now, we have found something very dirty that Mr Kembell is up to.

In the middle of the night, when it was darkest, a mysterious truck arrived. It stopped right outside Mr Kembell’s cottage and unloaded a large number of barrels. Both Agent Y9, Agent B1, and I could smell the toxic fumes from the barrels all the way from our hiding spot.

It has to be illegal to store those barrels there, don’t you think?

Objectives: Meet Helga at the councilman in Firgrove. Tell him about the barrels.

Rewards: 5 Jorvik Shillings, 10 XP

Ride back to Firgrove Village and speak with Mr Franklin about what has been discovered.

mr_franklin

Barrels being unloaded in the middle of the night?

Quest completed

______________

Not Acceptable as Evidence

mr_franklin

Very interesting, but I’m afraid it isn’t enough as evidence. There could have been anything in those barrels. We need some physical evidence. Hmmm… If you could get your hands on a sample from one of those barrels of waste, I could act.

Helga and Rita, I hope you understand that my hands are tied until I have some concrete evidence against Mr Kembell’s dirty business.

Objectives: Tell Helga what the councilman said.

Rewards: 5 Jorvik Shillings, 5 XP

Hmm… I wonder what we can do about this.

helga

Evidence? Hmmm… So he needs concrete evidence. Then I guess we will have to get it. Are you ready to learn some spy techniques, Rita?

Quest completed

______________

A New Master Spy

helga

Ride over and meet Gretchen by Mr Kembell’s cottage, Rita. She is keeping the cottage under observation to see if any other illegal activity is going on.

Ask her to teach you how to move silently and hide like a master spy. She has only done the basics at spy school so she isn’t fully trained, but I am sue she can show you enough for what we need to do next.

Meet us at the councilman when you are done.

Objectives: Meet Gretchen at Mr Kembell’s cottage.

Rewards: 5 Jorvik Shillings, 25 XP

Ride back to Mr Kembell’s cottage, and speak with Gretchen standing outside.

gretchen

So mother said that I should teach you how to sneak around like a master spy? Wow! It is going to be so much fun to teach you how to move like a cat or a very soft stone. You know they can be very quiet. Not like me as I can’t seem to stop talking, blah blah blah…

Quest completed

______________

A Lesson in Master Spy Techniques

gretchen

Okay, listen carefully now Rita, to what I am saying so it will go super well for you, so ll you need to do to avoid Mr Kembell, if he sees you then you will have to run away, but it should be easy because if you see him coming you should be able to hide but don’t forget to look for the barrels so you can take a sample from them in this jar I got from Momma, so good luck and goodbye!

WAIT! I need to spray you with this here anti-dog spray that makes it so they can’t smell you… But Summerblaze will have to stay outside because he is too big to get through the hole in the fence and you need to go through and there isn’t enough spray for you both…

-Pfffft!-

Objectives: Look for a poison barrel and take a sample from it with the jar you got from Gretchen. Watch out for Mr Kembell and his dogs.

Rewards: 25 Jorvik Shillings, 25 XP

Go in through the hole in the fence and watch out for Mr Kembell and the dogs. Time your run so that they don’t see you. Run up to a barrel to check for the toxin. Find one with some in it, take a sample, then return to Gretchen outside.

gretchen

Wow, wow, wow, that was great sneaking, Rita. You are as good as me and I have been going to school for a couple of years so you must have a super talent for this!

Quest completed

______________

Report to Agent Y9

gretchen

Superamazingfantastic job Rita! You were like a ninja panther that moved quieter than a panther ninja in the middle of the night.

Take the poison sample to Momma and say hello from me. Goodbye for now, I have to keep spying.

Objectives: Ride back to Helga with the jar of poison.

Rewards: 5 Jorvik Shillings, 5 XP

Go back to Firgrove Village and speak with Helga about what you’ve found.

helga

You succeeded in taking a sample from the barrel, Rita? Super!

Quest completed

______________

Now We Have Evidence

helga

Ha! Have you seen B1, now we have evidence against Mr Kembell. Rita, even if we don’t get our savings back, we can see to it that Mr Kembell is gone from Firgrove so he can’t do something like this to anyone else.

Rita, show the councilman the poison you found.

Objectives: Show the councilman the jar of toxic waste.

Rewards: 5 Jorvik Shillings, 5 XP

Speak with Mr Franklin and show him what you found.

Let’s go see what the test from your samples showed.

Eviction of G

mr_franklin

You were absolutely right. The contents of that jar you gave me were incredibly dangerous. That crook Mr Kembell is trying to dispose of toxic waste here in Firgrove woods. It is as illegal as it could possibly be. Now we can evict him and see that he leaves here for good… and quick.

Everyone, to the cottage! Rita, we’ll see you there.

Objectives: Meet the councilman at Mr Kembell’s cottage.

Rewards: 5 Jorvik Shillings, 5 XP

Ride to Mr Kembell’s cottage and meet everyone there.

mr_kembell

Barrels? What barrels? I don’t know what you are talking about. This is slander! I will sue you for everything you own Rita!

Quest completed

______________

Where Are the Barrels?

mr_franklin

Rita, what is the meaning of this? Where are all the barrels you were talking about?

Objectives: Speak with Mr Kembell

Reward: 5 Jorvik Shillings, 5 XP

It’s just Mr Kembell being a snake, again.

mr_kembell

Barrels? You are beginning to be a little crazy, Rita. Ha ha. I promise, when my lawyers and I finish with you, a stick of gum will be too expensive for you. Ha ha ha!

Quest completed

______________

Distraction and Deception

gretchen

Rita, psst! I have a great idea that I should get them all to look at me so you can sneak away and find where all the barrels have gone then come back here and show them that I have really learned my lessons well at spy school right right right right?

Are you ready?

Of course I saw when he was moving all those barrels as I was watching so I saw him carry a lot of them to the barn up there behind the house so they still have to be up there, don’t you think?

Are you sure you are ready?

HELLOOO EVERYONE LOOK AT MEEE! I saw a moose in the woods over there I promise it was SUPER big and had a horn of gold that glittered in the sun so that I was almost blinded as if I had stared into a flashlight that shone as bright as the sun that is really a star in a galaxy that is called the Milky Way that you can see in the sky sometimes but not now… That rode on a hose… Almost like a cat but more square in shape… If you think a little little horse but not quite…

Objectives: Look for barrels of waste around Mr Kembell’s cottage.

Rewards: 25 Jorvik Shillings, 25 XP

While Gretchen has everyone distracted, sneak through the fence and go up to the barn behind Mr Kembell’s cottage, to find the hidden barrels. When you have found the barrels, return to the gates to show everyone that you found them.

mr_kembell

What is that? Barrels full of waste? In my barn?

I don’t know what you are talking about? I haven’t done anything!

Stop lying? I’m not lying… Those might be my barrels…

But you all would have done the same as me, you know it! I got one thousand Jorvik Shillings for every barrel I hid… There is nobody who wouldn’t have taken that deal! If the waste ran out into the environment? Bah… Who cares about that? I’m gong to pave all of Jorvik, just wait!

Quest completed

______________

Get Out of Firgrove

mr_kembell

Grrr… How can I have such bad luck? It is always Rita that ruins my plans.

Next time Rita, next time…

Next time? With pleasure…

mr_franklin

Well done Rita!

Hmmm…

Platinum Aces Trivia Set, Opening for Contributor

$

0

I have a system worked out to do the trivia for the club.

There is a new page added under the Platinum Aces tab. This page is where the trivia will be posted as a form, similar to the one you filled out to join. This form will be updated each week with new trivia questions and will be posted on Friday. It will remain open until Sunday, and be removed Monday. Scores and answers will be posted either later on Monday or on Tuesday. Hopefully this will work better for everyone and allow them to do the trivia in their own time.

The first trivia set will be posted tomorrow, so get ready!

There will also be a second form that will always be available. This one allows you to submit your own questions to be used on trivia. They do not have to be super hard, but they should be challenging. They can span any subject EXCEPT: politics or religion. If your question is used on the trivia, you will earn five bonus points!

Also, Alice Silentbrooke has resigned from her place as a contributor due to busy home schedule. She is a wonderful author and I have left her place available should she choose to return.

With this, I am looking to add a new contributor or two to write for the blog.

If you would like to be a contributor, please read the requirements below and then email me at ssoridethrough@yahoo.com

Requirements

  • Must be friendly, respectful, and mature.
  • Must have active email address and be willing to use it. I will not give out your email but I require it so that we can be in contact behind the scenes.
  • Must have a WordPress account or be willing to register for one. You do not have to start your own blog. The account will allow you to connect to this blog and log in using your own information.
  • Must have basic English grammar and writing skills. This is a writing position and so you must be able to write well.
  • Must be able to produce at least one piece a week. This is not a strict requirement, but to give you a general idea of what is expected.
  • Creative ideas such as stories or comics are what I am looking for. ‘Advice’ or photo album/daily journal (“today my horse and I did races, and went to Firgrove”) will be rejected. This blog already has ways for players to ask questions, and while I’m sure your game life is very interesting, it is not what I want for SSORT.
  • Posts must also not violate either SSO terms of service, or my blog rules.
  • My favorite band is Dave Matthews Band. This will be important later.
  • Even if I accept you as a contributor, I reserve the right to remove you from the position, at any time, for any reason, and without notice. Most likely, I will give you a warning if your behavior is bothering me, but I reserve the right to not tell you if I so choose. Just behave yourself and we won’t have a problem.

If you have any questions before applying, feel free to contact me.

I will not set a deadline for this, but the sooner the better. I will keep the applications open until I find a suitable writer.

I look forward to hearing your ideas and hoping to finding another great contributor!

Thank you. I’ve been a nervous wreck from this lack of sleep and can’t manage my job. The worst part is that I can’t remember what the dreams are about! As soon as I fall asleep, I wake up again… All cold, sweaty and scared to death. But I can never remember the dream.

I think the dream is about something in my past. But what could it be?

Quest completed

Can someone really read another person’s dreams? Then it might be possible to find out what is scaring me. Hmm…

Mrs Holdsworth? You think she might have some tips for us? Maybe. The old lady is clever. Could you ask her? I don’t really feel up to the trip myself at the moment… I am completely destroyed. She kidnapped you years ago and wanted me and  my horse for dark reasons in exchange. You don’t remember? You don’t? Strange… Probably for the best.

Rita, are you thinking what I am thinking? Just think if Mr Sands and his evil friends have somehow managed to succeed in getting Katja to our world again? Imagine if Katja has become the fourth Dark Rider? If it is true, they are far ahead of us… What a terrible thought. What should we do?

Take this sheet. You can use this to dress up like a ghost and scare him in the mine. Ride to the Demascus Mine. Hide to the left inside the mine.

Meanwhile I can hypnotize James a bit and convince him to visit the mine. When he comes in, you jump out and give him a proper scare. If this works, the old memory should be scared right out of his subconscious mind and his nightmares should stop.

Do you understand the plan? Get yourself to the mine and scare the unsuspecting James. Good luck. Don’t get scared yourself now…

He got the hiccups you scared him so well? And seemed a little confused? Perfect! So he should be cured for the time being. The ghost sheet was scary enough? Maybe you can borrow it again for next Halloween. Who knows.

The Fourth Dark Rider…

alex

If we are going to sum this up… If it is true that Katja is back and she is becoming the fourth Dark Rider, then we are really in trouble, Rita. I have a feeling she is back. Why else would James suddenly start dreaming about her suddenly?

Objectives: Speak together with Alex.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 45 XP

Reputation: 15 with Keepers of Aideen

This is very serious…

alex

We really need to keep our eyes open now, Rita. Right now is a strange and dangerous time here on Jorvik, but this is nothing new. But now the darkness is building and the clouds are growing faster than ever before. But we will be ready to fight when the time comes! I only wish we could be ready now… But the druids need their time to prepare too. We’ll see you again soon, Rita.

Quest completed

With that done, let’s go see Jasper. Something has happened out on his pumpkin farm.

old_man_jasper

Oh my heart! Huh? Rita! It is lucky you came by.

You should have been here yesterday. It was peaceful and quiet and the birds were chirping in the bushes. All of a sudden a loud rumbling started and the whole ground began to shake!I thought it was very strange. Then it happened! I heard a horrible crack and a huge boulder crashed down from the mountain! Just imagine if I had been out for my morning walk, Rita. I could have been flattened like a pancake!

It seems to have calmed down up there in the mountains now. But what if it happens again? Can you ride up there above my farm and see what might have caused this? You will? Great, come back and tell me if you find anything.

See you soon and please be careful!

Objective: Ride up into the mountains above Jasper’s farm and see if you can find out the cause of the falling boulders.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 10 XP

Follow the trail of boulders up to the east of the north road. The trail goes up between two large rocks and you have to go through some bushes. You will come out into a little clearing and see a huge wall of the strange boulders.

When you find the rockslide, return to Jasper.

old_man_jasper

A gigantic pile of mysterious boulders in the mountains? And you took a mysterious stone from the pile? Even more mysterious than the boulder that rolled down onto the farm? Wow… That must be amazingly mysterious.

The Witch Probably Knows More

old_man_jasper

This is very mysterious. I’ve never seen a stone stranger than this one… It is glowing pink. It seems to weigh almost nothing. If I had known there were strange rocks like this I would have carried them away a long time ago!

You know what? Take this stone over to Pi, the witch that lives in the swamp close to my farm, you know the one. She knows a lot about strange and unusual things. Ask her if she knows what is going on.

Objectives: Speak with the witch Pi and ask her about the rockslide in the mountains.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 5 XP

Ride the north road into the swamp and meet Pi at her house.

nice_pi

Abracadar– Who is there? Aha, it is only you, Rita.

Thee has been a rockslide from the mountain? I thought I heard something this morning. Pink glowing and feather-light stones? You have one with you? Let me have a look at it.

Quest completed

______________

Mysterious Mysteries in the Mountains

nice_pi

Let’s have a look at that stone. Hmmm… This is terrible!

That stone is no ordinary stone. The pink is Pandoric material, infused into the rock. What is special about it?

Rita, stones like this don’t exactly show up every day… And now you say there is a whole pile of these stones on the mountain.

You are sure you aren’t making this up, Rita? I really have to see this myself to believe it!

Rita! We’ll see you up by the entrance to that strange valley. Hop on your horse and ride back up there. I’ll fly up there on my broom. We’ll see you there by the rock pile. Having never learned to fly is no excuse for being slow!

Objectives: Ride up the entrance to the strange valley in the mountains and speak with the witch Pi.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 15 XP

Leave the swamp and meet Pi by the rockslide.

nice_pi

Haha, that took you a long time, Rita. You need to learn how to fly and then you will it is the only way to travel! I’ve had a chance to set up my portable witch laboratory here so we can analyze these stones a bit better.

Quest completed

______________

Everyone… Dance the Rain Dance

nice_pi

Well… While you were taking your sweet time coming up the mountain… I did a little experiment on the stones and discovered something interesting. They are extremely light and I discovered that they will dissolve in water. They just vanish… POOF! Just like that!

So, what we need to do is a good, old-fashioned rain dance. If you dance with me, we should be able to call up some really wet weather to rinse away the stones so we can see what is on the other side of the rockslide.

Get off your horse and stand over there and I will show you how it is done.

Just do what I do and you will get to see something. Hmm… Can you get Summerblaze to dance with us? The more the better!

Okay… Here we go. One and a two and a three and four!

Objectives: Dance, Rita, dance!

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 30 XP

Wiggle those little dancin’ feet!

nice_pi

A Shadow Seeker?! Here? This is very bad news Rita…

Quest completed

______________

Source of the Shadows

nice_pi

Shadow Seekers… In my backyard. Those are Pandorian creatures, Rita. They shouldn’t be in our world… Which I’m sure you understand. Have the druids not taught you anything?

Hmmm…

There must be some kind of source or portal they are coming through. If you can find it, I will figure out a way to stop them. We cannot let the portal stay open… If we don’t close it more and more Shadow Seekers will pour into Goldenhills Valley.

They catch you if they see you? I’m sure you can make it… Shadow Seekers do not see very well. If you hide yourself well, they won’t be able to get you.

There are thorn bushes there? That sounds perfect. Hide in the bushes and you will see they won’t be able to find you.

Objectives: Go back to the strange valley and get past the Shadow Seekers inside it. Hide in the thorn bushes, let the Shadow Seekers pass you, then you can sneak past them. Find the source of where they are coming from.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 30 XP

Leave your horse outside the valley as it scares them, and go into the valley on foot. Make your way to the end of the valley to find the source of the trouble. If you have to cross paths with a Shadow Seeker, be sure that you are hidden in the thorn bushes, until they pass.

When you find the source, return to Pi. You can take the cliff marked ‘shortcut’ to go back out without having to pass the Shadow Seekers again.

nice_pi

A glowing crack in the ground? That must be where they are coming from!

Rita, we have to close that rift and get rid of those horrible Shadow Seekers.

Day 60, Building a Trap – Spoiler Alert

Let’s see if Pi has decided what to do about the Shadow Seekers loose in Jorvik.

We Need to Capture the Shadows

nice_pi

I’ve thought a lot about it Rita, and I haven’t been able to come up with anything…

Wait!

Now I have an idea…

I have it!

We should build a shadow trap and catch all the awful shadow seekers!

But I’m not sure how…

Hmmm…

You know what… The thin air up here in the mountains is making me dizzy.

I can’t come up with anything. Ride to the Fishing Village and speak with my old husband, Klaus. He is clever and I’m sure he will come up with something.

Objectives: Speak with Klaus in the Fishing Village. He will come up with an idea.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 10 XP

Let’s go see if Klaus has any ideas. Pi is no help…

mayor_klaus

Something tough to catch Shadow Seekers in? What exactly is a Shadow Seeker anyway? Sounds mysterious.

You should really speak with my wife about this… This is more her kind of thing. Oh… It was her who sent you here?

Aha. Let me think for a minute…

Quest completed

______________

Scuba Tank on the Loose

mayor_klaus

Aha Rita! Now I have an idea!

My old scuba tank that I used for underwater archaeology was built specifically to be impact resistant and good under pressure. I’m sure that would be good enough to hold a few infernal Shadow Seekers without any trouble at all.

Unfortunately, it isn’t here.

I loaned out my tank to Mr K Trout who was going to try cod fishing underwater. Speak with him and tell him you need to borrow it. He has had plenty of time to get his own scuba gear by now if he has decided to continue his underwater fishing.

Objectives: Speak with Mr K Trout, who has borrowed Klaus’s scuba tank.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 5 XP

Mr Trout should be able to give the scuba tank back.

mr_trout

Klaus’s scuba tank? Yes, I borrowed it. But it is gone now…

Quest completed

______________

Scuba Tank Rocket

mr_trout

It is actually a little embarrassing, Rita. I thought this diving thing was easy… But when I went to fill the tank with air, I must have done something wrong. I think I might have put too much air in it… Because suddenly the valve flew off and the tank took off like a rocket, straight up into the air.

I didn’t see where it went but it must have landed somewhere in the village. How will you find it?

I’m sure it made quite a hole in whatever it might have landed on when it came down again. If you ride up somewhere high, you might be able to see where it landed?

Objectives: Get up as high as you can in the village and look if you can see where the scuba tank might have landed.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 15 XP

The lighthouse is sufficiently high enough.

Enter the front door to look from the top of the lighthouse. The scuba tank crashed through the porch roof of the house to the far left of the screen. When you get down from the lighthouse view, with the lighthouse behind you, go immediately to your left and you will find the scuba tank on the ground of the first house on the right. If you go around the corner of the path, you have gone too far.

When you have the scuba tank, return to Mr Trout.

mr_trout

You found the scuba tank, Rita. Well done!

Quest completed

______________

Valve Fishing

mr_trout

The valve? You need that too? Well… I don’t really know where it is either…

You know when the scuba tank took off like a rocket, I was terrified and I dove out of the way… And I think I must have dropped the valve out in the water here. But you know what? I have an idea…

If you borrow my magnetic fishing lure, that I invented, for when I’m fishing for Jorvik Iron Herring, you might be able to find it. I’m sure it is on the bottom somewhere close by so it shouldn’t be impossible.

Good luck!

Objectives: Fish for the valve from the scuba tank near Mr K Trout and speak with him again when you have found it.

Rewards: 5 Jorvik Shillings, 5 XP

Oh, Mr Trout, what are we to do with you…?

Fish for the lure off of the inside corner of the east dock, right behind Mr Trout. This part works just the same as the normal fishing does.

When you have found the valve, return to Mr Trout.

mr_trout

You see Rita, you can solve any problem with a fishing rod!

Now let’s see… There! Now the valve is attached to the scuba tank properly again!

Quest completed

______________

A Scuba Tank for the Mayor

mr_trout

There, now you have a perfectly workable scuba tank. A little rusty maybe, but it will work just fine.

Thank Klaus for me and tell him that underwater fishing didn’t work out well for me anyways… My float went straight up to the surface and I never got any bites!

Objectives: Take the whole scuba tank back to Klaus.

Rewards: 5 Jorvik Shillings, 5 XP

Guess who we’re not letting borrow our stuff…

mayor_klaus

Yep. That is my old scuba tank.

Quest completed

______________

Scuba Tank Delivery

mayor_klaus

Have a look Rita. This old scuba tank should be able to hold a few Shadow Seekers in check with no problem. Take the tank to my old wife and say hello from me!

Objectives: Take the scuba tank to the witch Pi.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 5 XP

Ride back up into the mountains to give the scuba tank to Pi.

nice_pi

A scuba tank? Huh, can that really work?

Quest completed

______________

Shadows in the Dark

nice_pi

Hmm… A scuba tank… I’ll need to cast a very strong spell on it… But it might work.

But now… We need to find a way to get the Shadow Seekers into the tank. How should we do that? Who should we ask about that?

Jasper? You think Jasper might be able to help with this? His barn is full of all kinds of possible solutions you think? Okay. Worth a try. Ride over and ask him what he might have for this problem.

Objectives: Speak with Jasper if he has anything we can use to catch Shadow Seekers with.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 5 XP

Jasper has all kinds of fun things up in his barn.

old_man_jasper

You need to squeeze Shadow Seekers into a scuba tank? Have you gone completely nuts?

Shadows in the Tank

old_man_jasper

Hello there, Rita. I have finally managed to cart away all those stones. It wasn’t easy. Water? I could have just poured water on them and they would have melted? You could have told me that earlier… It cost me a sprained back and two shovels to get them out of here. Grrr…

But what are you saying now… Catching shadows?

Catching Shadow Seekers? Aha… Hmmm… I have no idea really, but look in my barn and see if there is anything you might be able to use. There is all kinds of old junk in there.

Objectives: Look in the barn for something you might be able to use to catch Shadow Seekers.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 15 XP

Dismount your horse to be able to go into the barn attic. When you have found something, return to Jasper.

Ah… I feel the old fire in my legs again just thinking about it. Watch now and you’ll see some real disco dancing! YES! I feel like a young man again! I’m going to invite the Baroness to the disco and show you youngsters how it is really done!

Come on now! Woohoo! One and two and OWWW!!

Ouch… Now my back is locked up again. That was dumb of me. Good think I have a cane.

A Finished Trap

nice_pi

Hello Rita! Now I’ve spent the whole night magicking the scuba tank and the vacuum into a Shadow Seeker trap you brought me.

Look at my masterwork!

I have used the strongest magic on this… So now you have the strongest possible Shadow Seeker trap that you can use to capture and hold an entire Shadow Seeker army.

The only thing left to do is connect the vacuum and the scuba tank. As the person who is going to use it, you should connect the two. Like this… Pretty easy.

Objectives: Connect the vacuum and the scuba tank.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 5 XP

There we go Rita. Now we are ready. Now we need to see if it works. I call it “Pi’s Amazing Shadow Sucker.”

Put the Shadow Sucker on the ground and wait for a Shadow Seeker to fly over the trap. If you have done everything right it should make a loud “BANG” noise and the Seeker should be trapped before it knows what is happening. Bang! Bang! Bang! Hah!

Catch a Shadow Seeker and then come back to me. BANG! Haha!

Objectives: Place the Shadow Sucker on the ground and catch a Shadow Seeker. Pickup the trap when you have caught one and take it to Pi.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 25 XP

Go into the valley and place the trap on the ground. Wait a few seconds for the Shadow Seeker to be captured, then pick up the trap and return to Pi.

The Druids? Are you sure about that? I’m not exactly great friends with them at the moment…

You can do it? Okay. Ask someone there about what we should do with this little shadow monster. Be sure to take the whole trap with you there.

Objectives: Speak with one of the wise druids in Valedale about what to do with the trapped Shadow Seeker in the scuba tank.

Please say hello and give a warm welcome to my new contributors!

Players Astrid Goldside and Ella Youngforce.

I also have two non-player contributors, who are both good friends of mine and are excellent writers.

Amanda Daul and Jake St. Clare (writing as Rocket Wolf).

We’re still getting some things set up but we should have some great stories ready for you by the end of the week!

Also! PLEASE READ!!

I am changing my story ratings and possibly removing them completely.

While most of the stories will be general rating, Jake has an amazing story but it deals in darker themes and images. There may also be brief language and drug or alcohol references. There will not be depictions of sex or nudity.

Please be aware that I do not care to censor my writers as I feel that limits creative output. Stories with questionable content will be clearly marked at the top and if you are not comfortable with said content, just don’t read it!

I want to keep this blog as a friendly and creative atmosphere and I really, really don’t want another shit storm like the one we had over Alice’s war story. This is everyone’s only warning. If you are offended by the content, do not read it. I don’t want any mean or complaining comments left on my writers’ posts.

I know that Star Stable is a game for all ages, but this blog is not connected with the game, and I am not part of the game staff. Please be aware that we are different entities and have different rules for what is appropriate.

That being said, I hope you enjoy the great stories we have in store for you!

The Summer Camp – Chapter One

Hey! I’m one of the new contributors here on SSORT, and I’m so excited! For my first post, I wanted to do a summer camp story – a bit like when you first join SSO. Hope you like it!

______________

Dear Diary,

My first entry in my new ‘summer camp journal’. Great. Today was a total disaster. It was one of those days you just can’t ever forget!

As the riding instructor called my name, I peered around nervously at the horses. The woman was tall and scrawny, with a tight bun sitting on the top of her head – a little like a ballet teacher. “Ella.” She called out in her foreign accent. I walked out from the line, and made my way to the wide selection of ponies and horses. There were duns and palominos, bays and chestnuts. I wondered what one would be mine for the rest of the summer. The woman looked at me ,with her mucky green eyes, and gave me a very disgusted look. She flung the paper around on her clipboard looking for my name. “You got Storm, the black friesian over there.” She pointed to a beautiful, large, muscular horse with a magnificent jet black coat. My eyes lit up like fireworks on new years eve. “Hey boy!” I whispered to him, stroking his long, wavy mane. The woman tapped her foot and looked at her watch, I got the message that I had to scoot over. “Take him to the stable block and choose one. Brush him down, get to know each other. Be quick, there’s a lesson in an hour!” I took Storm’s lead rope and led him to the second stable block. Most of the stalls were already taken by other girls, but eventually, I found one next to the tack room. I led Storm into the stable, and closed the door on us. I enjoyed watching him roll around in the wood shavings, smiling as he turned his stall into a massive pile of mess.
Moorland was home to host annual summer camps. At home on the farm, we didn’t have paddocks or arenas; we just rode in the fields. Riding Donny was fun at first. We’d gallop bareback through the long, tall grass. Donny was my ‘mate’, he was the only one I could really have fun with. Unless you count harvesting crops and feeding pigs with grandparents fun. Well anyway, I got Donny when my mother died, he’s been a dobbin ever since. For my 12th birthday, I was allowed to go to Chestnut Farm to look at horses. I did go! And the horses were amazing! All posh and buff. But they just weren’t…me. Donny, for me, was just fine.
Back on the farm, we all learned to ride for ourselves. We didn’t have lessons. Which meant we didn’t need fancy dressage clothes. Turns out you do need fancy clothes for summer camp lessons! Once I’d got Storm sorted out, I went to the dorms to unpack. I was sharing with a mixture of girls; Bella, your normal, sweet, average girl. Maddie, absolute horse mad, a little crazy, and sometimes selfish. Jessie, emotionless, tries to make everyone laugh, thinks she’s miss popular. Then there’s Loretta…Posh, snobby, wealthy, and totally crushing on Justin Moorland! More about him later.
So, I knew there was a lesson, but I didn’t know we had to wear certain clothes. I wore baggy jeans, a shoulder length t-shirt, a western hat and my mother’s second pair of cowboy boots. I’d rode the the paddock in which we were having a lesson in. Our riding instructor was called Jenna. She looked okay to me. But once I began to ride round, she stopped me and yelled at me for about fifteen minutes. She told me to go a put something sensible on. I quickly asked Bella if I could borrow one of her dressage outfits. The outfit was amazing, but it was incredibly hot! When I had arrived, the other girls were warming up. I really, really didn’t need to! We took it in turns to do a routine so Jenna could get to know us a bit better. I volunteered first.
It was horrible! I did a western routine, everything we would do on the farm. The other girls laughed and told me I was silly. Jenna was even madder than she was about my outfit, and to make things worse, Loretta tripped me up into a big pile of muck.
This is the worst summer camp ever!

Caution! Horror Story!

______________

Hello all! Rocket Wolf here, with my story, Eater of Death.

I am not a player and this story isn’t really about horses, but Maggie invited me to write on her blog regardless. Hope you all enjoy it!

______________

To cheat death at nine years means

Death will come in nine years more.

Death will be yours forevermore.

……….

“Don’t forget your jacket, you’ll catch a cold out there!” Eira yelled to her young son Tamíl as he bolted out the door. They had woken to the first snowfall of the season and she could barely get a cold breakfast in him before he eagerly ran outside to play in the new powder that blanketed everything.

Well, at least that gets him out of the house, she thought. That left her time to prepare a special surprise meal of fresh beef and honeyed cakes for dessert. The night before, she and her husband Makai had decided that Tamíl, at nine years old, was finally old enough to start helping his father in the blacksmith shop. The announcement would be celebrated with these treats, something they could rarely afford on Makai’s meager earnings.

She smiled as Makai embraced her from behind, his large, strong arms circling her body.

“He sure will be a happy boy today, won’t he?” Makai said with a chuckle as he watched Tamíl and his friends bound off into the snow.

“I think happy is an understatement. He will be ecstatic. You know how long he has been waiting to work with you in the forge,” Eira replied, with a similar laugh to her voice.

“He just can’t wait to grow up to be a man,” Makai hugged her tighter.

“But then when he’s old, he will wish he was younger,” Eira sighed.

“Ain’t that the truth!” Makai tossed his head back, and Eira could feel the laugher shake his body from deep in his belly. She gripped his arms as he flexed his elbows and hands.

“It will be good to get him learning the trade before these old bones give out on me.”

“Just don’t work him too hard yet. He has his whole life for that,” Eira turned and kissed Makai on the cheek, then strode into the kitchen to start the cooking fire in the stove.

She worked most of the day, carefully cooking the meat at a low temperature to keep it juicy and tender, and watching the cakes so their fluffy tops didn’t collapse as they baked. Finally, by late afternoon, the rest of the meal was prepared and she set out to pull fresh water out of the well behind the house and to find Tamíl to call him to dinner.

Rounding the house, she spotted the boys playing atop the hill across the road. She waited until she was sure Tamíl had seen her, then she waved to him, ushering him inside. He yelled to her, but she could not understand him across the distance. She urged him with a larger gesture and he finally came sliding down the hill on a makeshift sled.

“Dinner is ready, come eat!” she called to him as he dusted the snow from himself.

“A few more minutes, Mom?” Tamíl whined.

“No, come in now. We have a surprise for you,” Eira replied with a grin.

At that, Tamíl’s eyes brightened and he hurried across the field, towards the road. Suddenly, as he neared the road, a pair of crazed horses came barreling around the bend. The runaway carriage bounced frantically behind them, one wheel missing from the rear axle. Despite the winter chill, their coats still glistened with sweat and their frenzied eyes belied their fear. The broken vehicle did not slow them, as in their panic, they galloped straight towards Tamíl.

Eira froze in fear, the bucket of water lay dropped at her feet. Her eyes were locked on her son’s face, as she was sure she was about to witness his death. Tamíl continued running, just as the horses thundered past, obscuring her view of him. The harnesses snapped and the carriage slid to a stop in the road, while the horses galloped on.

Her frightened mind no longer in control, Eira’s feet suddenly ran of their own accord to the wreck of the carriage. She neither registered her own sobs, nor the pain in her hands as she pried through the splintered wood to find her son.

Her eyes were blinded by tears as strong arms pulled her back, and tossed aside the wreckage with ease. Makai’s own cries mingled with hers as he lifted Tamíl’s limp body from the pile. Then the world went silent, and she reached for the boy. She clutched his head, his still-warm blood coating her hands. Makai held him as she listened for breath.

The tears welled up anew as she heard what she was sure was his breathing. She felt for a pulse. It was there. Faint, but still there. She followed close behind Makai as he rushed the boy inside.

Tamíl was weak, and unconscious, but alive! If he would survive his injuries, only time would tell…

Chapter 1 of The Spellbinding Darkness: The Spell is Cast

Elizabeth sighed. Another boring day in Happy Camp, California. But Elizabeth (Ellie to her friends, who were few) felt anything but happy. In fact, she felt downright glum. Her parents had found jobs here a couple of months ago, and uprooted the family from their apartment in New York City to bring them here. Ellie twirled her long red hair around her finger and looked out the window wistfully. Suddenly, the bell rang, and she hurried up out of her seat to get to the door first.

“Now, remember, class,” the teacher said with a drone of monotony. “Read chapters 3 and 4 at home tonight.”

Ellie had no intention of reading any such chapters. Her parents called her “free-willed” and “spirited”, but she knew those were just words for disobedient. She strolled home, glad to be out of doors and enjoying the fresh wind on her face. At least Happy Camp had some redeeming qualities.

Ellie entered her house, the last one on the small lane called Piccolo Drive, and the saddest-looking, too. Shingles hung from the tattered roof and the paint was peeling along the edges. Her parents enjoyed a challenge, though, and claimed it was their duty as home and garden experts to fix up as many old “projects” as they could get their hands on.

“Hi, honey. How was your day?” her mother queried.

“Fine.” Ellie replied. She was determined to utter as little syllables as possible to express her dismay at the move. So far, it had been working.

“Cheer up, now, honey! You can’t be mad forever!” Her parents, however, were optimists of the worst sort– they would just not see the darker side of things. Well, they hadn’t left any dear childhood friends behind in the move.

“Whatever.” Ellie grumbled, and headed upstairs to her room to eat a snack and finish putting up her posters of ponies. Horses were the one thing that she could love. They wouldn’t leave her, or get mad at her, or refuse to get mad at her when she wanted them to. They wouldn’t feel pity for her. Instead, they could connect with her, and empathize.

When dinner was over, her father asked her to wash the dishes.

“No.” Was Ellie’s response. Her father raised his voice.

“Why don’t you help your mother and I at least a little bit? This move was hard for us too, and we’re still adjusting!”

Ellie stormed out of the house, the screen door slamming behind her, tears in her eyes.

She wiped at her eyes furiously with the back of her hands and stumbled blindly into the dense woods behind the house. She continued on until she collapsed into a pile of soft fall leaves, sinking into their comforting warmth, and, eventually, sleep.

She awoke a few hours later to darkness and the chirping of crickets. Suddenly, she heard a sound akin to that of a branch being snapped by a great weight. Ellie looked around, and saw a large black shape ambling towards her. No, not ambling, this creature was much too graceful for that. Gliding, perhaps? Yes, the black shape glided towards her with purpose and deliberation. Yet she felt strangely calm when she knew that she should be scared by this spellbinding creature. A few moments later, she found herself staring straight into the big black eyes of an even blacker horse.

Arissa’s Fate – Chapter One

Caution!

Contains depictions of violence and blood.

______________

Chapter One

Golden morning light was beginning to spill over the mountain peaks in the distance, etching a bright portrait of the picturesque landscape. Even so early in the morning, the chilly night air was already being vanquished by the swiftly rising sun. Even the water of the lake below the knoll was still as the death that still hung in the air.

Clouds of heavy breath rose up and slowly drifted along until it disappeared into the atmosphere. Then another foggy breath would follow immediately.

Now that the ground was replaced over the fresh pit that had been dug, Arissa stroked the surface once more with the shovel to smooth it over. In a few days, the vegetation and grass in the area would begin to grow back over the disturbed area and no one would be the wiser as to what had taken place on the knoll that night.

She hadn’t wanted to kill him right away, but he had left her no choice and her combat skills outweighed her subconscious. No one was going to get in her way this time. It had been just after Arissa had extinguished her campfire for the night, to erase any evidence of her location. The fiery glow would have for sure called in anyone who was in the area and perhaps that was how he had found her.

Her instincts had told her something was wrong before she went to sleep. Stealthily, she had crawled out of her sleeping bag at the foot of the giant, scaly tree and drawn her sword just in time to block the deathly blow that would have pierced her lungs. The sound of the two swords slicing together rang out through the trees and across the distant valleys, surely alerting others of the battle.

It had been foolish of the man to attack as suddenly as he had. Obviously, he hadn’t been on the hunt for her long enough to realize that she was even more deadly than the soldiers and trackers who were after her. He had little coordination and poor balance that didn’t stand a chance against her quick, catlike reflexes. In less than a minute, it was over and the man lay at her feet in a pool of his own blood.

Arissa had worked quickly to clear away his tracks and cover the blood with dirt. She kicked the rocks from her campfire away, scattering them and burying the ashes in the sandy ground. Within a few moments, all signs that she had been there were gone.

Hurried, she whistled a quick, fluttering tune and only a moment later, a sleek, black horse trotted swiftly into the clearing from the bushes. He came to stand next to her, his lengthy mane falling to his shoulder as he prominently arched his muscular neck.

Luckily, there was a short length of rope still attached to her saddle and she quickly tied one end to the man’s foot. Moving him onto the grass so the blood trail wouldn’t be as noticeable, Arissa was relying on the usual morning rain to wash away the remainder of the traces before the other patrollers found her campsite. It would be too obvious to bury him there, which is why she had taken the body over the next hill.

Satisfied that the grave was camouflaged enough until the rain clouds covered the area, Arissa quickly mounted her stallion, ready to find a new direction to travel. Before she had the chance to even turn the horse around, the sound of shouting men and galloping hooves caught her attention.

Longs strands of silken black hair slashed at her face when she whipped her head around to see. Arissa quickly brushed her hair away from her face, squinting her dark eyes to see through the trees. A flicker of movement and more shouts came from the patch of forest just south of her previous camp. They had missed it, she realized, grinning. Of course, they had. After she was through, she doubted they ever found any of her camps or resting places. The stakes were too high, she had to be thorough.

Arissa urged the stallion behind a clump of brushy trees, keeping out of sight until she could clearly see the majority of the company approaching her. So far, she could see five men on identical chestnut horses. The same type of horse that everyone in the area rode, tall, light brown and even their manes cut to exactly the same length. The only thing that could distinguish them apart from the next was the rider, who looked almost the same as well. For the soldiers in the militia, they all wore the same uniform, same hat and all had a similar look. It was difficult for her to tell them apart. The other men, simply villagers or hunters or trackers who had volunteered in the pursue of her, wore every day clothes and didn’t always have horses. Most of these men were poor and one of the reasons they volunteered was probably because of the bounty that was no doubt on her head.

Six soldiers on horseback in total were trotting her way, but seemed completely unaware that she was lurking behind the trees only a few hundred paces ahead of them. A slight grin cracked across her face. She knew she was smarter than they were, otherwise she wouldn’t have survived as long as she did. She knew the woods too well even their trackers weren’t able to keep up with her. If she hadn’t been in such a dire hurry, she would actually be having fun. However, this time it wasn’t a game and she needed to stay focused.

There was enough space left between them that she could grab their attention and lead them off on a false trail that would get them lost for days. That would get this group out of her way and only leave at least a hundred more armed men on her trail.

The second that she stepped out from behind her enclosure and whistled sharply to turn their attention on herself, arrows began firing through the air in her direction. Most hit the ground without even reaching her and some struck trees around her. Arissa let the stallion charge into a full gallop immediately and clutched at his thick mane as they rushed through the forest, dodging and weaving between trees and flying bullets arrows.

Another sharp arrow whistled past her, but all she could think about was how much she needed to find what she was looking for. Lives that she actually cared about depended on it and she was running out of time.

I have some stuff coming up these next two weeks and I’ll be really busy.

As always, I’m not leaving the blog. I just want to give you all a heads up that I will not be updating much for a bit. I will continue to check comments and answer questions, but there will probably be a longer time between them getting answered. I will also continue to check emails and Facebook, if you would like to contact me that way.

When I get back in the swing of things, I will have more story quest posts (I’m almost caught up to the game) as well as the blog store (more info about this later but I’ll be selling custom keychains, posters, and plushies). So there’s lots of fun stuff to look forward to.

In the meantime I’ll continue posting stories from the contributors.

Hope you all are having a fabulous summer. Stay safe and happy riding!

I’m back to updating the blog. The next post will be kind of long so it might be a bit until you actually see anything updated but I just wanted to let you know that I am working on it. I will also be back to posting contributor posts and updating the club page. I do have all of your submissions, and I’m not ignoring them. When you send in your submission, I have to manually update the page, and I’ve gotten behind on it during my little hiatus.

I’m looking for ways to improve the blog to make it as helpful as possible. I have gotten messages from readers thanking me for the help, so I know it is helping, but I want to know if there is anything else that I can do to make it even more helpful. I will be posting a poll for your opinions later this week, so this is just a heads up for you to start thinking about things :)

Thanks for your patience while I was busy and as always, I love your support and am always here to help. Hope you all have a good day and happy riding!

Let’s see if Avalon has finished with the Shadow Seeker brought to him.

Analysis of the Shadow Seeker

faceless_druid

This was an interesting problem, Rita. I think I have come up with a solution.

We are going to take this little Shadow Seeker and make him good instead of evil. It isn’t as hard as you might think. I think it is important for you to understand the Shadow Seekers. They are terribly angry and evil… but only because where they come from is full of so much evil dark magic. So what we are going to do is simply extract the dark magic and replace it with a little good magic.

Okay, this is what we’ll need to do. Go look behind the houses in town on this side of the river. Behind one of them, I can’t remember which, I planted Kind Herb last year. It should be ready to pick by now. Pick a couple of them and I will make a magic powder with it.

Objectives: Collect some Kind Herb for Avalon. He planted them behind one of the houses in Valedale, but doesn’t remember which one.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 5 XP

Reputation: 5 with Keepers of Aideen

The Kind Herb is located behind the house directly in front of the championship race area in Valedale. When you have collected enough of the herb, return to Avalon.

faceless_druid

That was quick. This herb looks really good Rita. Thank you.

Quest completed

______________

Magic Makeover

faceless_druid

Whew. There, now I have ground up the Kind Herb and added a few more secret druid ingredients. Look how nice the powder turned out. Doesn’t it smell wonderful? Like cinnamon in a summer rain.

If you suck up this powder with the Shadow Sucker the Shadow Seeker will  get a good dose of kindness. It should do the trick. Let’s try it and see.

Objectives: Suck up the kindness powder with the Shadow Seeker Sucker.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 20 XP

Reputation: 20 with Keepers of Aideen

Go over to the Shadow Sucker on the ground and use it to suck up the Kind Herb powder.

When you are done, return to Avalon.

faceless_druid

There, Rita. I’m glad I could help you. Take the Shadow Sucker with the powder back to the witch. Please tell her from the that the druids don’t hold any ill feelings for her. We are very happy that she is kind again and we would love to meet her for some tea here. She is very welcome.

Quest completed

______________

Back to the Witch

faceless_druid

Please tell Pi that we need to use the converted Shadow Sucker to close the Pandoric rift as soon as possible! It is very important! This is very serious stuff.

Wait, take the rest of the kindness powder with you. You might need it to treat other Shadow Seekers later…

Objectives: Take the kindness powder and the kind spirit back to the witch and explain how the rift should be closed.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 10 XP

Ride back to Pi in the mountains in Goldenhills Valley.

nice_pi

Hello there.

Wow, that spirit sounds very happy in the scuba tank. We should let him out soon shouldn’t we?

Quest completed

______________

Catch All the Shadow Seekers

nice_pi

The druids want us to close the Pandoric rift with the help of the happy spirits? We should do that right away!

Now that we know how the Shadow Seekers work, we need to catch all the others and clear the way to the rift. Catch them all the same way you caught them before and come back to me when they are all in the scuba tank.

Hurry… As soon as you have caught them all, we have to close that crack. If we are too slow, even more Shadow Seekers will get through.

Objectives: Catch the rest of the Shadow Seekers. Place the Shadow Sucker on the ground and get out of the way. Don’t forget to pick it up every time you manage to catch one.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 25 XP

Venture into the darkness and capture the remaining Shadow Seekers out and about.

When you have caught all of them, return to Pi.

nice_pi

Good! Now suck up the kindness powder into the Shadow Sucker.

Quest completed

______________

Close the Rift

nice_pi

Poof!

There! Now all of the Shadow Seekers are friendly and happy. Listen to them, they are all signing in there. It sounds really nice… We should record it and release it on Jorvikify. It could be a huge hit!

What? You are surprised? Just because I am a witch doesn’t mean I don’t follow the internet and new developments. I love music! Anyways, back to what we have to do!

Now we have to make sure that the crack gets closed so no more evil gets released into our world.

Take the happy Light Seekers up to the crack and place them around it on the ground. Together they should give out so much positive energy that the rift should collapse and the portal to Pandoria should close.

Good luck Rita!

Objectives: Take the light spirits up to the crack and place them around it on the ground. Return to the witch when the rift has closed.

Rewards: 10 Jorvik Shillings, 45 XP

Go and close the rift with the Light Seekers, then return to Pi and tell her how it went.

nice_pi

Well done Rita! I could feel it from here when the darkness left the mountain.

The Light Seekers returned to Pandoria. Why? Not everything from Pandoria is evil you know… It is complicated…

Quest completed

A Lesson on Pandoria

nice_pi

Hmm… Pandoria… Where should I begin?

Yes… Pandoria… You understand that… Hrmm…

Ah… Once upon a time…

Bah… Speak to the druids again. They can explain this thing with Pandoria for you. I don’t have time for that right now… You understand. I left my kettle on the fire so I need to hurry back before it boils away… I also have to do my laundry…

I have to run off now, but this was nice. We should have lunch sometime, what do you think? See you around Rita!

Objectives: Ride to Valedale and speak with the druids about Pandoria.

Rewards: 5 Jorvik Shillings, 5 XP

Reputation: 5 with Keepers of Aideen

Elizabeth will be able to answer your questions.

elizabeth_sunbeam

Pandoria? I knew that you would ask us about this one day.

This is not knowledge we share lightly. It isn’t that we don’t trust you, it is more that we question you are truly ready to accept and comprehend this knowledge. This is the question we ask ourselves.

We will need to discuss this with the council, Rita. Have patience, in time we will share all our knowledge with you.

Here’s chapter two of The Summer Camp. Hope you enjoy it!

______________

Dear Diary

So it’s the second week into the summer camp, and actually, things have turned around. I met someone called Juliet. She’s a little like me, but with dark brunette hair. She said she’s been here before, she said it was amazing, and once you actually visit the rest of the island it’s beautiful!

So tomorrow morning I’m heading out to Silverglade Village with Juliet – apparently there’s a brand new clothing store. I’m also going to buy marshmallows; so we can roast them down at Nilmer’s!

“Hey Ella, who do you wanna ask to the BBQ tonight?” Juliet asked as we rode back to Moorland.

“Um. Well. How about Maddie and Bella? The two girls in our dorm?” I asked quietly.

“Awesome! I’ll invite…Hmm. Ariana and Zoey!” Juliet smiled.

I’d actually never heard of either of them but I enthusiastically screamed ‘yay!’

After we got back from the village, I saw Juliet talking to Loretta. Tan was in the stables helping out little girls who wanted to bond with their horses more. Tan was surprisingly affectionate to little kids!

But anyway, about Loretta and Juliet. Loretta seemed to be lecturing her. In a way I guess. I hid behind a tree, which I actually found quite funny because people hardly ever do that, except for in movies.

“Uh! I cannot believe you Juliet! What is wrong with you! Ella? I can’t imagine what her horse’s name is! Probably Puffyheart!” She began to snigger at her own joke.

“Loretta! Ella is fun, and sweet and friendly!” Juliet’s face lit up; which made me smile myself.

Loretta pinched her nose. “Shut up, honey. You must be dreaming!” And she sashayed across to Tan.

My head span. I ran off myself – but in fury! I felt light and drifted. I tripped over a log and lightly screamed. But I didn’t hit the floor.

I opened my eyes in astonishment. I was in the eyes of a blonde haired, blue eyed, mystery boy!

Tomorrow I will be opening a new trivia section (Countries and their capitals, so get studying!).

Applications are always open, be sure to send yours in (located on the Platinum Aces page) before the trivia opens. If you have sent in an application you can still participate in the trivia even if I have not updated the Members page.

The trivia will open tomorrow and be available through the weekend. I will remove it Sunday night and post scores Monday morning.

I have also added a new contributor. Please give a warm welcome to Jasmine Dawnwood! She likes to take pictures of the scenery around Jorvik and she will be running a Photo/s of the Week section for you all to enjoy!

Hope you all have a good day and happy riding!
